George Dampeer died January 14, 2024 at his residence inStarkville, MS.  He was born inTylertown, MS on March 5, 1939 to Preston and Zilpha Dampeer.  He graduated from Tylertown High School andMississippi State University and was a veteran of the United States Navy.  George was an accountant for the Departmentof Defense at Keesler Air Force Base for 35 years.  He lived in Ocean Springs, MS and moved toStarkville in 1999.He loved the Bulldogs, cats, and was an avid reader.

George was preceded in death by his parents Preston and Zilpha Dampeer.

He is survived by his brother, Bob (Sara) Dampeer; andnieces and nephews, Carol Mayfield, Kelly Smith, Pete Smith, Allie Stephens,Addison Mayfield and Sarah McClain Hassell.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
