Condolence From: Michael Williford
Condolence: I first knew Jackie at NSU of Louisiana. I was a senior instrumental music major and she was a freshman education major. She also had a love of music, taking voice lessons and singing on student recitals and playing the clarinet in the NSU Band. After I left NSU, Jackie met my first cousin and her future husband Dr Steve Pruett. I recall the family story that Steve took Jackie to meet our grandparents near Many, Louisiana. Steve and my grandfather told Jackie that Steve was a good man and would make a great husband. The rest of their relationship is history. Jackie was a great Christian wife, mother, and grandmother. She used her musical talents for the lord as she sang beautifully and directed the Handbell Choir at First Baptist Church in Starkville. During the last year of her life as her heath started to fail, I would send her and Steve recordings of the First Baptist Dallas Choir and Orchestra special music selections for the worship services. I enjoyed giving them hope and inspiration during this time, since we all had a love of not only of music in general, but great Christian music as well. The First Baptist choir sang a beautiful arrangement of "We Shall Behold Him" on Sunday, September 17. After I received word of her passing on Monday, September 18, I thought of Jackie and how thankful I was that she was beholding God face to face now, as the song states. I give my love and deepest condolences to Steve, Scott, Dena, Henry, James, Stephanie, Pam, Terell, and my Uncle Gerald Quinton.
