Michael S. Edwards, 55, passed away on September 7, 2023. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mike was a loving and generous kind of guy who would give a complete stranger the shirt off his back. Mike’s passion in life was to be helpful to others. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. Mike was known for his prowess on the football field as a member of the 1984 Starkville High School football state championship team.

Mike is survived by his wife Donna Edwards of Starkville, son Zachary (John) Barnes of Cincinnati, OH, daughter Alison (Kirsten) Barnes and granddaughter Charli Hope of Pensacola, FL, brother Allen Edwards of Starkville, sister Sherrie (Warren) Cox of Collierville, TN, stepfather Harold Geddie of Ellisville as well as several nephews and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mickey Edwards and Phyllis Geddie.

Visitation will be from 2-3:30 p.m., Friday, September 22, 2023, at Friendship Baptist Church in Sturgis. A graveside service will follow at 4 p.m., at Craig Springs Cemetery.
