Obituary for Miriam Carol Blasingame Walker
Miriam Carol Blasingame Walker May 30, 1961-September 2, 2023
Miriam, known as Carol, was born to military parents, Donald J and Carol Patricia Allison Blasingame on May 30, 1961 in Augsburg, Germany. Carol attended elementary schools in Mississippi and Texas. She graduated from Starkville High School and then attended Delta State University but graduated from Mississippi State University. She worked with the international students at Mississippi State University.
Carol and Wayne Walker married and made their home in Starkville where Wayne was a police officer. Wayne preceded Carol in death on April 5, 2017.
One of Carol’s favorite joys was her family, especially her son, Don Walker and grandchildren, Dixie Elizabeth and Donald Dixon Walker, to whom she was known as Nana. She enjoyed traveling with her family. She had an extended family which included Rhonda Walker Stribling and Michael Walker of Ackerman, MS, plus Taylor Carrithers of Starkville and Tiffany Holland of Saltillo, MS, Kash Stribling and Molly Stribling of Ackerman, MS.
Carol was a member of Starkville Church of God
Carol was an only child but considered her maternal cousins as her sisters and brothers; many live far away, but have called to express their grief.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 8, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Starkville Church of God, with the funeral service immediately following. The interment will be held at a later date for close friends and family members only.
