Obituary for Bonnie Bertelson
Bonnie Bertelson, surrounded by her family, passed away at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS on Saturday, August 6, 2023.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at her home in Starkville, MS.
Bonnie was born on August 4, 1950, in New Orleans, LA to William and Leona Finnan. She worked as a Clerical employee for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in New Orleans, LA. She married Daniel “Skip” Bertelson on October 24, 1975. In 1983 they moved to Starkville, MS with their two children.
Bonnie was a beautiful artist; she owned a ceramic business and taught ceramic classes in her home for years. Once she retired from her ceramic business you could always find her in her kitchen cooking for friends and family. Her six grandchildren were the light of her life, and they all have memories of cooking with Gramma. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and friendship. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Leona Finnan and her brother, William (Billy) Finnan.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel “Skip” Bertelson; two children, Tara McCurdy (Mark) and Corey Bertelson (Mallory); six grandchildren, Mason and Logan McCurdy, Loxley, Lexington, Finnan, and Everly Bertelson; and one sister, Sharon Campagna.
