Ordering flowers from our site ensures that your order will reach us or the family in a timely manner, and your gesture of support will remain acknowledged in the Book of Memories™ for future generations. We only work with local florists so we can maintain the sense of urgency and quality of your selections. We thank you for helping to support the family during their time of need, and will fondly remember your kind gesture.
We respect the sensitivity and dignity that comes with ordering tribute gifts from the funeral home. It is for this reason that we have attempted to design our online Sympathy Store with the utmost respect to the family and the deceased. We hope you find this service helpful during your time of need and would welcome any comments or suggestions you might have to help us serve our communities better.
Condolence: Dear Peyton and family,
I remember welcoming you and your family to Starkville when you became the pharmacist at MSU. As the City Goodwill Hostess I came to see Gretchen to share information about Starkville and MSU. I went to make her feel right at home in Starkville and she moved right in and made everyone she met feel like a friend. When she was diagnosed with cancer I shared a prayer shawl from our Trinity Presbyterian Church prayer shawl ministry. She certainly fought the good fight. In her teaching career at Starkville Academy and Starkville High School she impacted the lives of so many students. May God Bless each one of you. May the many memories you've made with Gretchen continue to give you comfort.
In Christ,
HelenSue Parrish
Condolence: My parents lived next door to Gretchen and Peyton on Old Mayhew Road. They were wonderful neighbors and I appreciate their many kindnesses to my parents. My mother enjoyed her friendship with Gretchen so much. Her visits always brightened my mother's day. She was a beautiful southern lady who was kind to everyone. My deepest sympathy to all of the Passons family.

Condolence: Mr. Peyton, Peyton Jr., Robin, Paige and family - I loved your mama so much. She did know how to make people feel special and cared for. I will treasure the many memories I have of her. Love y’all forever!
Condolence: Peyton and family this is Sam Myers. I have been in a state of nostalgia thinking about Gretchen and how much I and all of her students and friends loved her. I remember her teaching us Latin and telling us about the world. I remember her taking her glasses on and off on and off on and off!! - and she would get distracted and tell story after story. I loved how she would say “SAAYYUUMMM” with that great big smile. I love how she would end a story with “and we may have had a little wine that night”! I loved how she always knew her students and I loved how she didn’t compromise when it came to character and ethics. I also loved how she would always keep me updated on her lovadove “Peytey” - love you too Peyton - y’all are one of the reasons why I’m a pharmacist. I loved how she would always tell us “well you just have to” “you have to try it” “you have to go there” - she lived at the edges and maxed out life if anyone ever did. I also know that many people including myself viewed her as a second mother. God blessed her with his essence and He shined through her. A day like today has just made me smile because I knew Gretchen and loved her for all that she poured out into me and others. Heaven is lucky today! God’s blessings and shalom on the family! With an endearing love, Sam Myers
