Obituary for Charles Templeton
Charles Timothy Templeton (Tim), 64 Starkville, MS. Passed away on November 25, 2022.
Tim grew up in Starkville, MS. He was educated at Starkville Academy and Mississippi State University.
He is preceded in death by his father Charles Edward Templeton, mother Margaret Russell Templeton and brother Andy Edwin Templeton.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Rose Templeton, his daughter Anna Rose Templeton and son Luke Timothy Templeton. Brother Art Templeton (Deborah) mother and father in law Dr. Lloyd Rose (Lynn) sisters in law Rebecca Rose Morris, Katie Rose Guyton (David) and his nieces and nephews. His dog, Lil Bud- “a man’s best friend.”
Tim was self-employed as a commercial and residential Real Estate Appraiser and Broker in the Jackson, MS area for many years. He was an active member of the Zoning and Planning Board in Ridgeland, where he served as chairman.
His office was located on W. Jackson St. He had a vision to develop a “Downtown” for the city of Ridgeland. He was instrumental in the development of the West Jackson St. Overlay District and the creation and design of the clock tower currently located on Jackson Street.
Tim was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, where he taught 1st Grade Sunday school, and coached upward basketball. When he moved to Starkville, he attended Pinelake Church. Tim considered himself a “simple man”. He loved the Lord and his family with all he had.
Tim had a heart and passion for coaching any sport his children played. He coached Anna Rose in soccer, knowing nothing about the sport. He bought a book about soccer and his team had a fun time. He coached Northeast Jackson Youth Baseball for many years. He loved the times he spent with the boys and was affectionately called Coach T. He always saw the potential in each player. He encouraged each player, especially the ones who needed it the most.
Tim’s greatest joy in life was his family. His legacy is the love and memories that live on in the hearts of his children.
His family is thankful for Dr. Michael Gibson and Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center who led the fight. Also, thankful for the love, support and prayers offered by family and friends.
His life will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 28th at First Baptist Chapel in Starkville, MS. Visitation will be at 1:00 with a service following at 2:00. Rev. Johnny Buckner will officiate the service.
