Our family will always be grateful for the special role Wes played in the life of our son, Stephen. Having been diagnosed with MD at an early age and relegated to the use of a wheelchair, Stephen nonetheless wanted to attend MSU. Imagine our surprise and relief when we discovered that Wes Ammon, who we knew from having grown up together in Vicksburg, was Stephen's academic advisor! Furthermore, Wes explained that his next door neighbor and best friend growing up had MD --- just like Stephen. Wes understood and empathized with Stephen from first hand experience. God had paved the way for our son through the life experiences of Wes 30+ years earlier! Amazing! And when Stephen died six years ago, Wes was one of the first to greet us at the funeral home.
