Obituary for Joyce Allene Brown (Gober)

Joyce Allene Gober Brown, age 69, passed away at her residence in Maben, MS on February 12, 2018. Joyce retired from North Mississippi Medical Center in 2017 as an Office Manager and had earlier retired from the Oktibbeha County School System as a teacher and bus driver.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Maben. A visitation will also be held from 10-11 a.m. prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 15. Burial will follow in the Maben Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The services will be conducted by Brother Tommy Temple.

Joyce is survived her husband of 45 years, Edwin E. Brown of Maben; daughter, Bonnie (Wayne) Fulgham of Mathiston; sons, Downtown Jesse Brown of Maben and Justin W. Brown of Mathiston; sisters, Evelyn Blackburn of Eupora, and Shelby Downs of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Kane (Tori) McCool of Dancy, Mitchell Fulgham, James Michael Fulgham, Kaleb Brown, Saxton Brown, and Olivia Brown of Mathiston; great grandchild, Korbin Andrew McCool of Dancy; sisters and brothers in love, Joyce Brown (Glen) Pate, Connie Greer, Deborah Kornegay, and Butch Brown; a host of nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Bonnie Gober of Yazoo City, Claude and Vivian Brown of Maben.

Pallbearers include Jay Corley, Shane Corley, Jason Burton, Charles (Skeet) Downs, Cason Pate, Tripp Pate, Jason Greer, and Michael Brown. Honorary pallbearers include her grandsons, Maben First Baptist Hostess Committee, Dr. Sue Simmons, and the staff at the North Mississippi Medical Center, and Mr. and Mrs. John Waits.
