Obituary for William Thomas "WT" Keller

William Thomas Keller “W.T.” passed away peacefully November 23rd, 2017. He was born in Columbus, Mississippi on August the 8th in 1928 to David H. Keller and Mattie Lou Keller, but spent the majority growing up in Amory, MS. He graduated from Amory high school in 1948 where he excelled in sports, including baseball, basketball and football. After high school, he felt obligated to serve his country in the United States Air Force. He served a total of four years where he was apart of the Korean Conflict during his service. After his service, he worked at the Columbus Air Force Base in the Civil Engineering department for many years. During this time, he met Annie Belle Prisock Morgan, which soon became his wife for 52 years of marriage. He then switched his focus to working at Mississippi State University where he worked as a librarian for over twenty-five years. He retired from MSU at the age of 62 years old. Even before he retired, he had many interests that kept him busy throughout his life. He loved to garden, read the Bible, and take his children down to the “Place” where he would teach them about hard work and agricultural resources. He was an active member of the local VFW as well the Masonic lodge for several years. He and his wife, Annie Belle Keller, attended Crosspoint Church in Starkville, MS where he and his family lived. His passion was gardening as well as hunting and fishing. His love for gardening was passed to him when he was an adolescent. He wanted all his kids, grandkids, and anyone who was willing to work to come and see how he gardened so that this tradition could be continued. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Annie Belle Keller; their kids James Shropshire Morgan II and his wife Debbie Morgan, Debbie Marie Keller, Karen Lee Hickman and her husband Dennis Hickman, and William Brett Keller and his wife Stephanie Keller; 7 grandchildren: Ted Lloyd, James Shropshire Morgan III, Timothy Lee Morgan, Lauren Kristine Morgan, Madison Leigh Keller, and, Morgan Lynn Keller; great-grandchild Adalyn Kate Hollis; his brothers and sister D.H Keller Jr., Barbara Keller White, and Eugene Keller. He is predeceased by his sister Alice Lusby and his grandson Scott Lloyd. The visitation will be held at 1:00 -2:00p.m with the funeral following at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. November 26, 2017
