First Cousins Ellis and Harriett
To Madge, our mother was not only Aunt Cormine but a loving "older sister". Madge's mother, Eva Graham Cromeans, born in 1892 was eleven years older than Cormine, born in 1903. When their mother died in 1907, Eva became an older sister and mother to Cormine. Cormine lived with Uncle Claude and Aunt Eva during her high school years and rode the "doodle bug" from Belmont to the Agricultural High School in Tishomingo. As a result, Cormine was there to help Eva with her young children. One day Cormine took two of the boys, Battle and Bill, to Red Bay, Al, just 6 miles from Belmont, to get their hair cut. It was on that day, in that barber shop, that she met the love of her life, Marion Perry Tinsley, our father. We loved Madge as a very special first cousin who was the epitome of kindness and graciousness. With Love and Special Prayers, Ellis Allan Tinsley, Sr. and Harriett Tinsley Sauls
