My deepest condolences to you and the family. I have known Tommy for over 30 years and coauthored the book, "Only in Arkansas" with him years ago. It was Tommy who first introduced me to my all consuming passion, the biodiversity of Arkansas, through the writings of E. O. Wilson. I have long admired his love of insects, especially the beetles, and followed his career even after retirement. Tommy was a wonderful colleague, admired friend, and treasured systematic entomologist who made many contributions to science and was highly respected throughout the entomological world. Condolence: My Deepest Sympathy. It is so difficult to lose a Husband, Father, and Friend to death. I am so sorry you are going through that. I am sure there are many cherished memories you can share with family and friends that will really help to keep Mr. Allen deep within your heart. There may be times when you are overwhelmed or sad, that is the perfect time to lean on God, because he really cares for you. God made a wonderful promise to help you at Isaiah 41:10: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness." How encouraging to know that God really cares for you, so much so that he made this wonderful promise to be there for you, to help you, to support you when you are afraid or anxious, to "really hold on to you with his right hand." What a loving, caring God. Please, lean on God, this will really help, it really helped me. I sincerely hope you find these words comforting. I also hope they give you the strength and courage you need to make it through this very challenging time.
