Mr. John Larry Ivy, Sr., 63, formerly of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly on December 23, 2010 at his residence in Pascagoula, MS.

He was born in Bradley, MS, on September 4, 1947 to the late Henry Alvin (Spike) Ivy and Louise Ellington Ivy.

He was preceded in death by his brother James Alvin (Jimmy) Ivy.

Mr. Ivy is survived by his wife, Dianne Jordan Ivy of Pascagoula, MS; daughters, Kimberly Dianne Ivy (Clint) of Pascagoula, MS; Tracie Leanette Ivy (Larry) of Saltillo, MS; son, John Larry Ivy, Jr. (Amy) of Booneville, MS; sisters, Nora Beauchamp of Moss Point, MS; Berneice Nobles of New Albany, MS; Doris Richey (Bobby) of Mooreville, MS; Mary Cox (Bob) of New Albany, MS; Evelyn Ivy (Phil) of Myrtle, MS; and Betty Hall (Wayne) of Ecru, MS; brother, William “Billy” Ivy (Retha) of Wyatt, MS; grandchildren, Desirae Ivy, Riley Ivy, Reed Ivy, Ramsey Ivy, Tyler Ivy, Kensey Hopkins, Cody Hopkins, Kyle Hopkins, Taylor Thomas, Tucker Thomas, Jordan Thomas, and one great grandson, John Tyler Ivy; sister-in-law, Charlotte Ivy; aunt, Vergie Ellington of Sturgis, MS; numerous nieces and nephews and several cousins from Oktibbeha County.

Visitation for Mr. Ivy is scheduled for Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. A funeral service will be held at Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Starkville on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 1 p.m. conducted by Dr. Jackie Wofford. Burial will follow in Wake Forest Baptist Church Cemetery in Sturgis, MS.
