Mr. John Draper Nason, Jr., 82, passed away at Carrington Nursing Facility in Starkville on Saturday, September 3, 2011.

Mr Nason was preceded in death by a grandchild, Draper Jackson, a granddaughter-in-law, Natalie Nason; sisters, Pauline Jackson and Dorothy Gill and brothers, James Nason and Raymond Nason.

He is survived by his son, John Draper Nason, III (Emma) of Sturgis, MS; daughter, Roe Ann Jackson (Ed) of Sturgis, MS; grandchildren, John Draper Nason, IV and Kasii Umland; 4 Great grandchildren: John Draper Nason, V, Emily Nason, Peyton Umland, and Tyler Umland; sisters Vitula Edmonds, Theople Hurst, Annette Allen, Patsy Wilson, Bobbie Magee; brothers, Gerald Nason and Mike Nason.

Visitation for Mr. Nason will be held on Monday, September 5, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at Welch Funearl Home in Starkville, MS. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Wake Forest Baptist Church in Sturgis. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery.
